Job Title: Experienced Exam Invigilator Location: Waltham Forest, London Start Date: May 2025 Contract Type: Temporary (for exam period) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the School: The school, located in Waltham Forest, is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for students to excel academically. They are seeking two experienced exam invigilators to join the team for the upcoming exam season starting in May 2025. As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of examinations, maintaining a calm and professional environment, and upholding the integrity of the examination process. Key Responsibilities: Supervising students during exams to ensure they adhere to all exam rules and regulations. Setting up exam rooms with appropriate materials and ensuring all seating arrangements are in accordance with exam requirements. Monitoring student behaviour during exams and addressing any issues or queries in a timely and professional manner. Distributing and collecting exam papers and materials before, during, and after the exam. Ensuring compliance with exam regulations, including the proper handling of exam scripts and materials. Reporting any incidents or irregularities to the lead invigilator or relevant school staff. Assisting with the packing up of exam materials and ensuring rooms are cleared in a timely manner. Key Requirements: Previous experience as an exam invigilator, ideally in a school setting. Training in exam invigilation (required). This could include training on exam regulations, safety protocols, and handling of exam materials. A good understanding of exam procedures and exam board regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional in a busy environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols. A proactive and flexible attitude, able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. A good level of punctuality and reliability is essential. Desirable: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one). Previous experience in working with students in an educational setting is advantageous. Why this role? Competitive hourly rate.
