A special school in Durham is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can bring patience, positivity, and steady support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff who will guide you through the routines and approaches that help pupils thrive.What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN school Supporting pupils during lessons, group work, and individual learning tasks. Encouraging pupils to follow routines and engage with activities in ways that suit their needs. Helping to adapt tasks and learning materials in partnership with teaching staff. Providing reassurance, structure, and encouragement throughout the school day. What the school is looking for A caring, patient person who genuinely enjoys working with children and young people. Someone with good communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach. The ability to stay calm, flexible, and supportive during challenging moments. Experience in SEND is welcome but not essential, as full guidance and training will be provided. What you’ll receive at Protocol Education Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella deductions.
