About the Role:
Industry Practices has been created to deliver market leading multiline solutions for specific high performing industry verticals. Our specialist underwriting team is building a bespoke client centric proposition tailored for the Healthcare industry and is supported by claims and risk engineers. We are looking for an Underwriter who is ready to step up to being a Senior Underwriter and focusing on the exciting Healthcare and Medical Malpractice sector.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Strategic Growth: Support the expansion of our International Healthcare Practice in line with Syndicate and Company plans, focusing on General Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Employers Liability. Industry Practice Plan: Participate in creating and executing the Industry Practice plan to meet Business Plan objectives. Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of renewal business, including underwriting, pricing, and client relationships, and address new business requests. Collaboration: Work with other underwriters, the actuarial team, and the claims team to develop effective pricing models and handle claims-related issues. Representation: Represent Everest at meetings, including visits to brokers and clients, fostering strong relationships. Compliance: Underwrite in compliance with Lloyd's and Everest standards, staying updated on changes in regulations and compliance. Continuous Learning: Invest in professional development through internal and external training, enhancing underwriting and product knowledge. Operational Excellence: Ensure timely and accurate processing and management information (MI) for individual accounts. Innovation: Contribute to the improvement of rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, and marketing materials. Travel: Engage in business travel as needed to support objectives, managing expenses responsibly.Knowledge, Skills & Competencies :
Underwriting experience with technical knowledge in International Healthcare. Understanding of wholesale and retail business. ACII qualification or significant progress towards it. Strong strategic skills to analyse opportunities and threats. Effective judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to take calculated risks with sound underwriting judgment. Knowledge of and adherence to compliance with regulatory controls. In-depth market and product knowledge, including competitor profiles.
