Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Management:

    • Provide expert legal advice to clients on wills, trusts, estates, probate, and inheritance tax planning.
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
    • Handle sensitive client information with utmost confidentiality and discretion.

  2. Wills and Estate Planning:

    • Draft and advise on wills, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.
    • Assist clients with estate planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure smooth estate administration.

  3. Trusts:

    • Create and administer trusts, advising clients on the best structures to meet their needs.
    • Provide ongoing trust management services, including compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  4. Probate and Estate Administration:

    • Manage the probate process, including obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration.
    • Administer estates, ensuring all assets are correctly identified, valued, and distributed in accordance with the will or the law.

  5. Tax Planning:

    • Advise clients on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and other relevant tax issues.
    • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize clients' financial positions.

  6. Compliance and Legal Research:

    • Stay updated with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
    • Ensure all work complies with current legislation and internal policies and procedures.

  7. Business Development:

    • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and promoting the firm's services.
    • Participate in networking events and activities to enhance the firm's profile.

  8. Team Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Private Client department and other departments.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members as needed.

Requirements
  • Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in private client law, with a strong track record in wills, trusts, probate, and tax planning.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in legal research and staying abreast of legislative changes.


Requirements
