Job DescriptionSenior Vertical Transportation Engineer Location Solihull / Agile working An industry-leading mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and low carbon consultancy with expertise across many sectors including Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial, Infrastructure, Sustainability and Public Buildings are looking to take on a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer in their Solihull office. This role contains a clear pathway through to a management position. The position initially is to support the MEP teams across the business with lift advice and design as part of the wider projects. However, we would also want the candidate to move into a business development role, with the ability to win work and grow the team in a short to medium time frame. As a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer, the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Develop vertical transportation design concepts, calculate number, size and speed of lifts for all types of buildings including high rise - Carrying out surveys and producing reports on existing installations - Preparing specifications, schedules, drawings and any other contract documents developed - Operating as part of the wider design team and have input throughout the project stages - Attending progress, design team and co-ordination meetings - Witnessing commissioning - Understanding and implementing company Health and Safety policy, and Environment Policy Key Attributes - Relevant academic background such as a degree, HNC or equivalent - A proven track record in vertical transportation design and business development - Competent at undertaking lift traffic analysis and preferably come from a consulting or lift contracting background - Competent with engineering calculations and relevant software - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to converse with and convey ideas to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Key Attributes - The successful candidate will have a Degree in Power System Engineering or related discipline and previous experience of working in an engineering environment. - Experience of using ETAP (IPSA+, ERACS, Power Factory, Amtech HV or similar) software. - Experience of using Revit software would be advantageous but is not essential. - The individual should have good communication skills, a strong willingness to learn and a desire to develop new and existing skills.
