Most children also have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis. This Farnborough-based school is looking for a passionate and committed Graduate Autism, Speech and Language Support Assistant. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students’ learning, development and language acquisition. As a Graduate Autism, Speech and Language Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals, and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in small groups and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career. Job role and responsibilities of a Graduate Autism, Speech and Language Support Assistant: * Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students * Behaviour and pastoral support * Take an active role in forward planning with therapists * Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students * Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Caring, compassionate, and a good listener * Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students * Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures * Personal care support * Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN. **Start date ASAP **Excellent on-site education and training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students **£80-£100 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.30pm, term time only **Must be able to travel to Farnborough and surrounding areas **You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship Apply now or contact Eleanor Chessun-Lawrence at Academics Ltd, if you are interested in the Graduate Autism, Speech and Language Support Assistant role: 01483 362 636 Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
