Are you someone who can inspire confidence, nurture self-esteem, and help develop essential life skills in those who may not have had that support?We’re seeking Mentors to join our team and work with children and young people in Fareham and surrounding areas. This is a fulfilling opportunity to create lasting change through meaningful, one-to-one mentoring. As a Mentor, you will: Mentoring sessions are designed to: Build confidence and self-esteem Teach life skills such as cooking, communication, and self-care Support mental health through activities like walking and talking Encourage positive social interaction through games and outings Help young people navigate the world with confidence and resilience You’ll be a trusted adult role model, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help them become well-rounded individuals. We offer vacancies ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week, typically during school hours. Sessions are spread across the week and can be tailored to suit your availability: 4 hours/week: 2 hours across 2 days or 1 hour across 4 days 5 hours/week: 1 hour a day, Monday to Friday 6 hours/week: 2 hours across 3 days, 3 hours across 2 days, or hours across 4 days 10 hours/week: 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday 15 hours/week: 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday About you: Empathetic, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals Experience working with children or young people (formal or informal) Ability to build trust and rapport A commitment to making a positive impact Position – MentorContract or position start date – ASAPContract or position end date (if applicable) – N/AFull time/part-time – VariedHours – 4 hours per week- flexibleEssential & Desirable Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
