About the role ⭐National Teaching Assistant Program (NTaP) Locations SEND placements are available in primary and secondary schools across Essex. The National Teaching Assistant Program (NTaP) is recruiting dedicated, empathetic individuals to train and work as SEND Teaching Assistants in schools across Essex. What You’ll DoAs a SEND Teaching Assistant through NTaP, you will: Provide tailored support for children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, dyslexia, SEMH, and physical or sensory difficultiesWork one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils access learning and build essential skillsSupport pupils’ emotional wellbeing, communication, and independenceImplement strategies and resources recommended by teachers and specialistsCreate a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive What They Offer Specialist SEND training delivered by experienced practitionersNationally recognised qualifications in teaching assistance and inclusive practicePlacement in a partnering local school, with a strong SEND provisionAccess to mentors, SENCOs, and ongoing professional developmentProgression routes into advanced SEND support roles or teacher training Who Their Looking ForNo prior classroom experience is required — just the right values and commitment: A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needsEmpathy, patience, and strong communication skillsAbility to build trusting relationships with pupilsA calm, resilient, and positive approachWillingness to learn and adapt to different needs and strategies Why Choose NTaP?
