Organisation Fleetwood Town Football Club Salary DOE Location Fleetwood, Lancashire, United Kingdom Contract type (Full time) Closing date 16 January 2026 Interview date 23 January 2026 Job Description Job Title: Lead Academy PhysiotherapistLine Manager: Academy Head of MedicalBusiness Area: FootballLocation: Poolfoot FarmJob PurposeTo deliver excellent physiotherapy services to Academy players at Fleetwood Town Football Club, optimising performance, reducing injury risk and minimising recovery time.Main Responsibilities and Key Result AreasLeadership & CommunicationMaintain clear and effective communication with the Academy Head of Medical regarding all medical matters affecting Academy players.Present concise updates and data relating to injured players in daily sports science and medicine meetings, and in weekly rehabilitation meetings.Contribute to weekly injury reports, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and relevant to all staff.Liaise closely with Sports Science and Medical staff to ensure the delivery of a cohesive and efficient service to players.Clinical ResponsibilitiesDeliver a high standard of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for all Academy players.Review and provide expert opinion on the management of Academy injuries as requested by the Academy Head of Medical.Lead rehabilitation programmes for injured players when required.Plan and deliver gym-based return-to-play sessions in collaboration with Sports Science staff.Attend all U18s or U21s home and away fixtures as required by the Academy Head of Medical.Accompany players to medical appointments where necessary.AdministrationMaintain accurate and compliant clinical notes in accordance with HCPC regulations.Complete relevant departmental administrative duties as required.Liaise with the Club Secretary regarding whereabouts and absences of U18s and U21s players.Knowledge & Clinical SkillsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of current research in sports injuries and rehabilitation.Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in assessing, diagnosing and treating sports injuries.Possess strong understanding of rehabilitation methodologies and injury prevention strategies.Continue to develop expertise in movement analysis and intervention techniques.Person SpecificationConscientious, thorough and detail-oriented.Strong character, capable of effectively managing players.Calm and composed under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with staff, players and external providers.Highly organised with strong time-management skills.Strong team ethic and collaborative approach.Hard-working with a commitment to continuous professional development.Please note:The tasks and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may be amended in line with the evolving needs of the business.Responsibilities of All EmployeesThe post holder is expected to:Carry out other reasonable duties in line with business needs.Undertake any training relevant to the role.Comply with all health and safety procedures and safe working practices.Adhere to data protection requirements and maintain confidentiality.Follow all safeguarding policies set by the Club.Safeguarding StatementFleetwood Town Football Club, Academy and Community Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, its workforce and vulnerable groups.
