Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our outpatient services team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead the provision of expert psychiatric care to children and adolescents within outpatient settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young people and their families. Key Responsibilities: Providing expert clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties within outpatient services. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients. Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulating individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines. Providing supervision, training, and mentorship to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Core Trainees. Participating in clinical governance activities, service development initiatives, and research projects to enhance the quality of care provided. Requirements: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK. Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych or FRCPsych) or equivalent qualification. Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within outpatient settings. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, adolescents, and their families in a sensitive and supportive manner. Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of developments in child and adolescent mental health.
