The Principal Designer's Role:

The successful Principal Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and managing design risk on a variety of projects. The Principal Designer will work closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to provide expert advice and ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the design and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Advising on and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations Managing design risk and ensuring health and safety considerations are integrated into the design process Coordinating with clients, designers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met Conducting design reviews and providing guidance on best practices Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information and health and safety files

The Principal Designer:

Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction management) NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Proven experience in a Principal Designer role within the construction industry Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
