Job Title: Director – Building Services ConsultancyLocation: Cambridge UK Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week) remote Sector: Defence / MOD Projects Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 per annumRole OverviewAn established building services consultancy is seeking a strategic andmercially minded Director to lead and grow its Cambridge office. This is a senior leadership role focused on expanding the consultancy’s footprint in the MOD and defence sector, driving business development, and overseeing high-quality project delivery.The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the direction of the office, building client relationships, and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants. This is a unique opportunity for a proven leader to make a lasting impact in a high-growth environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the strategic growth and operational management of the Cambridge officeDevelop and expand relationships within the MOD and defence sector, identifying new business opportunitiesOversee the delivery of building services design projects, ensuring technical excellence andpliance with defence standardsManage and mentor a team of engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance cultureRepresent the consultancy in client meetings, industry events, and stakeholder engagementsDrivemercial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource planningEnsure quality assurance, risk management, and regulatorypliance across all projectsCollaborate with other directors and senior leaders to align regional goals with national strategyCandidate ProfileProven experience in building services' consultancy, ideally with exposure to MOD or defence-related projectsStrong leadership and business development skills, with a track record of growing teams or officesChartered Engineer status (or working toward) with a relevant institution (, CIBSE, IET, IMechE)Excellentmunication and stakeholder management abilitiesEligible for UK security clearance (MOD project requirement)BenefitsHybrid working (2 days per week remote)Pension scheme25+ days annual leave plus buy/sell schemeProfessional development and chartership supportOpportunity to shape and grow a regional office with autonomy If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
