Local Authority Housing, Direct Labour Organisation Supervisor, South London Pay rate to £31.13 per hour Contract role, Local Government Housing We are recruiting for an experienced Direct Labour Organisation Supervisor in South London. This is a contract role, and you will need to have experience in a similar role in a Local Authority setting We are specifically looking for candidates with: Proven experience supervising operatives within a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) or housing repairs and maintenance environment (not site or property management). Working knowledge of Northgate (or a similar housing management system) – essential for allocating and closing down jobs. Strong understanding of NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR), including the ability to correctly code and authorise operative jobs and variations. Experience monitoring productivity, post-inspections, and job quality, ensuring works are completed first time and within agreed targets. Sound understanding of Health & Safety, including conducting toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and on-site compliance checks. Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of managing a team of operatives. You will need demonstrable experience of coding, Northgate use, and managing operatives within a repairs environment , not candidates from property management, construction, or site supervision backgrounds. MAIN PURPOSE OF POST The post holder will be responsible for managing, day to day operations and reporting into the operational DLO manager North / South. Working as part of the management team, the postholder will contribute to the development of the DLO business plan, service delivery KPI’s and operating budgets. You will work with the schedulers to plan the allocation of resources in accordance with demand and monitor individual performance by reports, coaching and appraisal. To set and ensure the standard of work completed is of good quality and staff achieve optimum levels of efficiency and effectiveness and to take remedial action where required.
