Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Requirement Authority to join our team, specializing in mechanical, electrical, or test equipment within the defence sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing equipment work packages, stakeholder management, and ensuring compliance with technical requirements. This role requires SC Clearance and British nationality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Package Management: Manage the equipment work package, including project planning and budgeting.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to ensure their needs and requirements are met.
- Accountability: Take accountability for the requirements of the equipment(s) on behalf of the project, with input from SMEs and the Systems team.
- Hardware Accountability: Take accountability for the equipment hardware, including development, deliveries, concessions, and fault management.
- Statements of Work: Produce Statements of Work for the associated design authority.
- Activity Planning: Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s).
- Technical Management: Technically manage internal and external design authorities/suppliers for the delivery of equipment work packages to meet time, cost, quality, and performance requirements, including regular engagement and supplier visits as required.
- Project Management: Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project.
- Testing Compliance: Own the equipment testing needs/compliance, including reviewing qualification verification evidence.
- Design Reviews: Plan design reviews and process gate reviews for equipment.
- Risk Management: Manage risks and opportunities, including their mitigation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in managing equipment requirements, particularly within the defence sector.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in project management, and excellent communication abilities.
- Security Clearance: Must be SC Cleared and a British National.
