An exciting job role has recently become available at the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council. They are looking for a new member for their Learning Disabilities Team. 

We are looking for a Team Manager to lead our Learning Disabilities Team to facilitate the transfer of the current post holder to a new role. The teamwork with adults with Learning Disabilities (post preparation for Adulthood, as this is undertaken by our Transitions teams) to complete complex assessments, care plans and interventions. They work across the whole Borough. The teamwork in a hybrid way, so we require someone who can be on site at least 2 to 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and support staff. Ensure effective supervision, appraisal, and professional development of team members. Oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of social care services Lead on safeguarding adults, ensuring robust procedures are in place Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work or equivalent. Registered with Social Work England. Management qualification (desirable).

Experience:

Significant experience in adult social care. Proven experience in managing and leading a team. Experience in safeguarding adults and working with multi-agency partners.
