We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.Our client currently provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 500,000 & some tertiary referral, specialist services to a considerably larger population of 1.2 Million. Our client are inclined on offering flexible job plans and will support individuals who wish to develop specialist interests such as research, education and teaching & are looking to officially establish university hospital status relatively soon. The trust achieved some amazing milestones within the Medicine & Emergency Care Division, these include: The A&E 4 Hour target has repeatedly been met to the extent that our client are the top performing Trust in the Region, Stroke Services have been consolidated onto 1 site in advance of the exciting new £6M HASU, Elective performance has been maintained through early adoption of remote patient consultations & even Lung cancer services have meant that we have delivered on our 62 day standard for all the cancer groups 24 months in a row, one of only a few trusts in the country to do so.The successful appointee will be joining a department of 6 Substantive Consultants and 3 Locum Consultants, where they'll be expected to support and lead on service development within the department. The appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties and responsibilities within the department, these include: participate actively in departmental audits, sharing co-ordination of audit activities within the department and implementation of change, take an active responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, training and supervision, participate fully in and share leadership of the clinical governance of the specialty covering its Trust-wide activities, providing a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility. This will include any patients referred to you and cared for by you personally or by members of your team and, in addition, any patients of consultant colleagues when you are covering for leave, participate in clinical and other service activities and developments with the aim of ensuring a high standard of patient care across the Trust & working in close co-operation with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues, both within and outside the specialty, to provide high quality health care to the Trusts patients, and to make a contribution to future thinking about the Trusts strategic direction.Our client offers the best of both worlds, the attractions of big cities, attractive market towns and the villages, all within easy travelling distance & excellent transport links to big cities such as Birmingham & London along with 2 highly touted international airports.Additional Information - Will consider full time or part time - 10 P.A's - Prestigious NHS Trust - A well supported & friendly team - Must have GMC Registration - Outstanding Schools within public and private sectorsThis is a Consultant in Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine vacancy.
