A Senior Quality Engineer is sought a leading engineering & manufacturing business who have won significant new programmes with automotive OEM customersQuality Engineer – AutomotiveSalary: £45-48000 + benefitsLocation: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Wednesbury, Dudley, West Bromwich, Aldridge areas)This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that design and manufacture components and assemblies for a wide range of automotive OEM customers, so this role affords the opportunity to work on customer projects from concept through to series productionDuties:o Co-ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actionso Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.o Accountable for all line quality issues - containment, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.o Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.o Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques.Experience:Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within automotive tier 1 or OEM manufacturing.o Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical disciplineo Ability to liaise with and manage OEM customer and supplier expectationso Structure problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPSo Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniqueso Familiar with volume manufacturing processeso Internal auditor experience - IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 desirableo Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.The opportunity:This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineering professional to join a specialist division of a global manufacturing organisation who are both winning and quoting for significant new business supplying OEM customers throughout Europe.
