Pulse Mental Health, a leading recruitment agency specializing in mental health services, is seeking a talented Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview: As a Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry (Inpatient), you will lead the provision of expert psychiatric care to individuals with learning disabilities within an inpatient setting. You will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex mental health needs while promoting the well-being and quality of life of patients with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of individuals with learning disabilities admitted to inpatient psychiatric units. Lead multidisciplinary teams in the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to the unique needs and abilities of patients with learning disabilities. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, and mental health reviews to inform treatment decisions and interventions. Deliver evidence-based psychiatric treatments, including psychopharmacological interventions, behavioral therapies, and environmental modifications, to optimize patient outcomes. Collaborate closely with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care and support for patients transitioning between inpatient and community settings.

Qualifications:

Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Completion of specialist training in Psychiatry with endorsement or accreditation in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry. Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent professional body. Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in learning disabilities psychiatry, preferably within an inpatient setting. Excellent clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in individuals with learning disabilities. Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
