Duty Control Manager

And as a Duty Control Manager with Bellrock, you'll do it by

  • Manage the running of the station, including, but not limited to: monitor the station and guideways (CCTV & IDS), make PAVA announcements to passengers, coordinate ad-hoc Passenger Care Ambassador ('PCA') tasks via radio (e.g. PRM support, Crowd control, Conflict resolution, Ticket gates support, Ticket machines support), remotely operate the loading bay, liaise with Airport control room and with the GTR Control room, respond to intruders and provide passenger assistance (e.g. lift entrapment).
  • Predominantly be located in the control room but may temporarily need to leave when issues 'on the floor' arise (e.g. attending to intruder, providing medical support etc.).
  • During an emergency the DCM will assess impact of disruptions, implement contingency plans, make decisions related to activating back-up service(s) and evacuating / closing stations, liaise with emergency services, brief on developing situations, log and report incidents and notify the DART Operational Team ('DOT').
  • Monitoring the emergence and close-down of incidents, managing a coordinated response between London Luton Airport Operations Ltd ('LLAOL') and DCC employees.
  • Escalating incidents up through the command-and-control structure as required.
  • Communicating information with GTR and LLAOL when required.
  • Maintaining a security presence at the Luton DART as required.
  • Responding to affray alarms and other alarm systems within the DART
  • Dealing with conflict situations with the public and communicating with the Police when required.
  • Patrolling the inside and outside areas of the building including public toilets, disabled toilets and walkways to car parks and keeping accurate documentation.
  • Report all Health & Safety issues and defects within the building to the helpdesk.
  • Enforcing the Non Smoking Policy throughout the building in all areas including the external ramp.
  • Provide assistance and deal with queries from members of the public.
  • Follow policies and procedures in relation to the operations of DART, the role and the client's reasonable requests.
  • Present a professional appearance when at work, adhering to the uniform and dress code guidelines at all times
  • Dealing with admin requirements regarding security records and CCTV footage.
  • Maintain computer records of logs and incidents.
  • To have a flexible approach to working times.
  • Must be flexible to work as there will be a requirement to carry out overtime to cover holidays etc.
  • Assist Police Officers or DCs when on site or investigating crime.
  • Complete and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of Bellrock.

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multitask and manage numerous systems/queries/tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to cover other work requests deemed necessary for the smooth running of the contract
  • Must have previous experience in a Duty Control Manager role.
  • Must hold an SIA Licence & Enhanced DBS.
  • Previous experience working in a busy commercial and public facing environment.
  • Experience in dealing with staff or customer queries

Working arrangements
