Job description SEMH Teaching Assistant - Supporting Students Aged 11-16 in Moseley📍 Location: Moseley 🕒 Hours: Full-time - Monday to Friday 💼 Contract: Til Christmas (potentially ongoing from January)💰 Payrate: £89 - £110Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and KS3 - 4 students with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and related behavioural needs.This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Moseley, where every day is different, and every small success counts.About the Role:* Provide individualised support to pupils with SEMH and ASD, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.* Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.* Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence in young learners.Requirements:* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs.* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.* Strong communication and teamwork skills.* A proactive, flexible mindset and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.* Minimum 6 months experience in a SEND classroom setting.* Must have Functional Skills Maths and English level 2 as a minimum.Desirable:* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health (, Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach, etc.).* Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision environment.* Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation strategies.
