ABC Teachers is looking for skilled Special Education Support to join a specialist SEN School in Birmingham on a full-time basis. About the role Collaborate with class teachers to prepare engaging and inclusive classroom environments, and provide day-to-day support to help pupils thrive. Build positive, professional relationships with students to gain a deep understanding of their individual and often complex needs, ensuring tailored support within the school environment. Deliver targeted support through both small group work and 1:1 sessions, adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and needs. Monitor and assess student progress using a combination of home school assessments and robust baseline diagnostics, with the goal of minimising the impact of medical or emotional challenges on educational achievement. Requirements To be considered for the role of Special Education Mentor you will: Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: At least two years' experience working with students with special educational needs.
