Job Description New Directions Education is recruiting experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistants to support Year 6 SATs booster sessions across a number of our partner schools on the Wirral. These roles will begin in January 2026, with regular ongoing work available throughout the spring term. Start Date: January 2026Location: Various primary schools across the WirralDuration: Spring term (with potential for continued work) About the Role:We are looking for confident, nurturing and proactive Teaching Assistants to work with small groups and individual pupils in Year 6 as they prepare for their SATs. You’ll be supporting targeted interventions, reinforcing key learning, and helping pupils build confidence in core subjects. We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications. As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to: Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities Assist class teachers with maintaining student records Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
