Our client is a dynamic and rapidly expanding high-tech firm that focuses on the development and production of advanced optoelectronic components for satellite communications & optical fiber networks. Over the past five years, they have grown into a recognised global leader in optical satellite communication and high-speed test and measurement devices. They work closely with leading development companies and manufacturing partners across Europe to design, develop, and produce highly specialised components, which are tested using both manual and semi-automated methods. Key Responsibilities for the Test Engineer: Conduct advanced testing and evaluation of some of the fastest optical modulator devices globally Analyse and report measured data to internal teams, customers, and partners Define and document test plans, instructions, and procedures to meet product and customer requirements Establish procedures for calibration and maintenance to ensure reliable, accurate, and repeatable measurements Generate and modify test plans using software Design and develop new test jigs and fixtures Specify and commission new test and measurement hardware Key Technical Requirements for the Test Engineer: Proven discipline or a degree qualification (Physics, electrical/electronic engineering) or equivalent experience Good working knowledge of semiconductor device characterisation Familiarity with microwave and/or optical measurements Experience in a test and measurement engineering role (preferred) Understanding of statistical techniques for data analysis and reporting, as well as software-driven systems Knowledge of semiconductor physics and device operation (appreciated) Familiarity with laser systems, reliability and quality engineering, optical fibers, and Visual Basic (appreciated) In return they will offer a competitive salary (open to different levels of experience) plus shares and other benefits.
