Job Title: Cost ControllerLocation: Bridgwater, SomersetEmployment Type: Full-Time, Site-BasedStart Date: Pending clearanceSalary: Competitive, based on experienceAbout the Role: We are seeking a highly capable and detail-driven Cost Controller to join our team on a major construction project in Bridgwater. This site-based role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction cost control and financial reporting, who can confidently manage cost performance and support executive-level decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed cost reports for Finance and Executive Management, including:Cumulative spend to date vs. budget and forecastCurrent cost liabilitiesPerformance indicatorsKey quantity trackingAssess monthly applications for payment and validate against project progress.Review and evaluate Tier 1 Contractor’s monthly cost reports, including:Staff and labour costsSubcontractor expendituresMonitor and report on cost trends, variances, and risks.Support the mitigation and resolution of contractual risks through the early warning mechanism.Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and procurement teams to ensure cost accuracy and transparency.Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.Ensure compliance with contractual and financial procedures.RequirementsProven experience in cost control within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and reporting standards.Proficiency in cost control software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and managing subcontractor cost data.Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Finance, or Construction Management are desirable.What Our Client OffersOpportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure project.A collaborative and supportive team environment.Career development and training opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package.If you or anyone you know are interested, apply now.The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
