Learning Support Assistant Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential? A well-established SEN school in Leeds is looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support pupils aged 5–16 with autism and complex needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with experience in SEN, social care, youth work, or support roles, as well as graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or Education who want to gain hands on experience in a school setting. With small class sizes and supportive colleagues, this role allows you to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a manageable workload. What You’ll Be Doing Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs Assist with learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and life skills Create a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to support EHCP outcomes What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or ASD (desirable but not essential) Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or Education graduates are encouraged to apply A calm, patient, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to full-time, term-time work (Mon–Fri) What’s On Offer £101.40 – £110 per day Long-term, full-time role in a supportive SEN school Access to CPD and professional development Small class sizes for a manageable and rewarding workload A real chance to make a positive impact on pupils’ lives Ideal Backgrounds SEN, Learning Support, or Behaviour Support roles Youth work, social care, or residential support Psychology, Criminology, or Education graduates considering teaching or educational psychology How to Apply If you’re ready to support children with additional needs in a welcoming SEN school in Leeds, we’d love to hear from you.
