Science Teacher Job – PRU / SEMH Setting – Salford, ManchesterYour New JobAre you a passionate and resilient Science Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? A unique opportunity has arisen for a dedicated educator to join a pupil referral unit (PRU) in Salford, delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons to students aged 11–16 who require alternative provision. This full-time role is to start immediately and is expected to continue until at least July 2026, with the potential to be permanent for the right candidate. You will be responsible for planning and delivering KS3 and KS4 Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, adapting content to meet the needs of learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and other barriers to mainstream education. Class sizes are small, with high levels of support from experienced teaching assistants and pastoral staff.Your NewpanyThis PRU is a well-established alternative provision setting in North Manchester, known for its nurturing approach and strongmitment to inclusive education. It supports students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools, offering a structured and therapeutic environment where pupils can re-engage with learning.The school has a strong leadership team, excellent safeguarding procedures, and a collaborative ethos. Staff are supported with regular CPD, and the school works closely with external agencies to provide holistic support for students.
