Semi Senior or Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to join a supportive firm where you can develop your skills, work with a varied client portfolio, and progress your career within a collaborative environment. Key duties of a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant:Prepare year-end statutory accounts for a range of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.Assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.Prepare basic corporate and personal tax returns.Support senior staff during client meetings and with technical queries.Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve queries.Help mentor trainee staff (for Senior level applicants).Contribute to workflow efficiency and support the smooth running of the practice.Qualifications to succeed as a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant: AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.Strong understanding of accounts preparation and general practice duties.Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines.Knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is advantageous.What the firm offers:Competitive salary.Opportunity to join a supportive and growing Kent-based practice.Exposure to a diverse and interesting client portfolio.Professional development and study support where applicable.Clear progression pathways as the firm continues to expand.To express interest or request further information, please apply through Sheridan Maine - click on “apply” as soon as possible.You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
