Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Assessment TeamLocation: Devon (Hybrid: Office & home-based, subject to service needs) Vacancies: CountywidePay Rate: £38 per hour Liquid Personnel is seeking experienced social workers to support our client’s Children and Young People Assessment Team in Devon.This is a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful and positive relationships with children, young people, and families—working closely with them to achieve outcomes that are family-led, strength-based, and focused on safety and stability, keeping them safe throughout childhood and beyond. Our client is currently operating under an Ofsted Improvement Plan; therefore, they require experienced, resilient social workers who demonstrate good practice and can model this across the service alongside peers. What will your responsibilities be? Receive and screen referrals from professionals, families, or the public. Conduct initial assessments to determine risk levels and service eligibility. Make decisions on whether cases require further intervention under Section 17 (Child in Need) or Section 47 (Child Protection). Undertake home visits and interviews with children and families. Liaise with police, schools, health services, and other agencies to gather information. Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for further action. Escalate cases to child protection teams when necessary.
