Role Profile Our client is a growing privately-owned business, who have recently invested over £2 million into new production equipment and facilities to scale with growth. As Packaging Process Engineer, you will take ownership of all packaging equipment performance, including electronic counting machines, bottle unscramblers, cappers, labellers, and associated machinery. Working onsite in the production clean room facility, you will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and ensuring minimal downtime across production lines. You will lead on machine setup, implement structured preventative maintenance programs, and act as the key liaison with the main machinery provider. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining reliability, driving continuous improvement, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant production operation.Key Responsibilities· Carry out maintenance, repairs and diagnostics across packaging lines.· Develop and run a structured preventative maintenance plan using effective fault-finding method to maximise uptime of machinery.· Upskill technical operatives on machine setup, safe operations and daily maintenance routines.· Manage inventory of critical spares and consumables, ensuring correct storage, tracking and availability for production.· Lead production line changeovers for new bottles and pouches.· Respond promptly to equipment failures and identify root causes.· Create and maintain technical records, standard operating procedures and machine operation guides for production and technical operators.· Adhere and promote ISO90001, GMP and strong health and safety standards always.· Take an active role on continuous improvement projects which focus on reducing waste, increasing output and support introduction of new product ranges.Key Skills & Experience· Relevant engineering qualification to HNC/HND or equivalent.· Minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining high speed packaging or bottling machinery.· Minimum of 5 years' experience with food grade production equipment, including electronic counting machines and automated packaging lines.· Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills (.
