Job Description Human Factors Engineer Location: BAE Systems, Barrow-in-Furness Duration: 6 months Rate: £66.41 PAYE or £89.75 Umbrella Working Arrangements: 2-3 days on site per week The Role We are seeking a Principal Engineer – Human Factors to support the design of safe, effective and user-focused products across our major boat programmes and site-based projects. You will ensure human performance is optimised and the risk of human error is minimised throughout the product lifecycle. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Human Factors input to design and analysis activities. Undertake task, workload, situational awareness and reliability assessments. Conduct workspace and Human Machine Interface analysis. Support health hazard assessments and safety justifications. Produce Human Factors reports and represent the discipline at technical reviews. Work closely with engineers and project teams across programmes. Skills & QualificationsExperience as a Human Factors practitioner. Degree (or equivalent) in a Human Factors related discipline (preferred). Ability to achieve relevant Professional Institution membership.
