Job description Key Responsibilities Individual Support: Provide targeted assistance to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging, and accessible learning environment. Interventions: Deliver focused interventions to support literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development. Behaviour Management: Apply positive behaviour support strategies to promote a calm and productive classroom. Progress Monitoring: Observe and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with the class teacher and SENCO. Team Collaboration: Work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student development. Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure pupil well-being. Contract Details Position: SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant Contract Type: Long-term (ongoing) Start Date: November 2024 Hours: Full-time, 8:20 AM – 3:45 PM Rate of Pay: From £ per day Qualifications & Experience Qualification: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Experience: Minimum of 12 weeks supporting children with SEN in a UK school setting. Training: Up-to-date safeguarding and SEN training desirable (training can be provided). Eligibility Requirements Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) Two professional references from educational settings Benefits Access to free CPD courses, including SEN and behaviour management.
