Head of Audit

A leading insurance company is seeking a Head of Audit to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a full cycle, outcome and risk-based audit programme that provokes behavioural, process, and product development in line with business objectives and provides meaningful insight into performance. The Head of Audit will collaborate with Group business areas and functional stakeholders to identify and analyse inherent risks in the Group’s operations, claims, and controls, and develop audits to ensure that audit projects and stakeholders focus on key risks and controls. Key Responsibilities of the Head of Audit: Develop the internal audit strategy and plan to ensure all key business risks and controls are evaluated Build an audit programme that fulfils business requirements and provides meaningful insight Meet with senior management to gain an understanding of the main features of the business, products and systems subject to audit Perform data analysis to identify anomalies or issues in the testing of controls Compile identified issues, audit reports, process narratives, and other documents to report and effectively discuss findings with business stakeholders Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Audit role: Audit/quality assurance experience gained within the insurance industry Experience of performing in and/or leading highly effective teams; identifying/implementing improvements to operating methodologies and inspiring excellent performance Audit leadership experience; effectively deliver audit results, determine appropriate reporting and escalation as needed Good at cultivating relationships with stakeholders, building trust that facilitates an open mindset and free exchange of information Strong reporting and data analysis skills If you are a proactive candidate with excellent leadership skills and a strong background in audit/quality assurance, this could be the perfect role for you.
