Cantello Tayler Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Analyst to work for their client based in Iver. This role is a full time position working from the office Monday to Friday.

The Purchasing Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Tracking and evaluating supplier performance, including purchase volumes, delivery timelines and cost trends

  • Provide actionable insights to enhance supplier negotiations and streamline procurement processes.
  • Monitor market price fluctuations and recommend strategies for bulk purchasing or cost optimisation.
  • Analyse slow-moving stock and propose liquidation or utilisation strategies.
  • Generate reports on aged stock and recommend promotional or discount approaches.
  • Monitor inventory turnover to identify overstocked or under stocked items, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Analyse historical sales data to forecast demand and guide purchasing decisions.
  • Identify top-performing products and align procurement strategies with customer demand and seasonal trends.
  • Conduct RRP analysis and maintain accurate pricing data in SAGE.
  • Provide weekly reports on high-demand items and those needing immediate replenishment.
  • Assess margins by comparing purchasing costs with selling prices.
  • Highlight opportunities to improve margins and address declining profitability.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of procurement decisions and recommend process improvements.
  • Analyse seasonal demand patterns to guide peak procurement planning.
  • Assess regional supplier performance to optimise purchasing strategies by market.
  • Assist in warehouse selection for supplier orders based on efficiency and demand.

The Purchasing Analyst will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in procurement or supply chain analysis.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results through data-driven recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills for creating dashboards and dynamic analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAGE for procurement and inventory analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools eg: Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented approach to analysing and interpreting complex datasets.
  • Ability to present findings clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with the purchasing team.
