The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to work full-time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of community and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community Mental Health for West Wiltshire and Devizes. This post is an existing post, which has become vacant due to the post-holder moving into a new post. Main duties of the job: As the post holder you will deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need including those service users who require an assertive approach who are difficult to engage. This will include on-going assessment, diagnoses (including review and clarification) and treatment of mental and physical health needs. As the post holder you will provide Medical input and leadership to the CMHT with particular responsibility for patients from surgeries. As the post holder you will also: Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in the CMHT Team and attend regular Team MDT meetings. Assessment and treatment of outpatients in clinics. Hold CPA meetings for outpatients. Visit patients in their own place of residence if clinically indicated Liaise with other parts of the service and GPs and non-NHS organisations wherever applicable. Liaise with the Intensive and Inpatient services as appropriate to facilitate the smooth handover of clients between services. To fulfil the Responsible Clinician role with respect to patients subject to Community Treatment Orders. Job Description available with timetable upon request.
