Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our esteemed team in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate psychiatrist to lead and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services for children and adolescents within our community. Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical leadership and expertise in child & adolescent psychiatry, overseeing the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health disorders. Lead multidisciplinary teams in the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs and developmental stages of children and adolescents. Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate accurate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Provide consultation and support to schools, pediatricians, social services, and other stakeholders involved in the care of children and adolescents with mental health needs. Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including specialty trainees, medical students, and other members of the healthcare team. Participate in service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research activities to enhance the delivery of mental health care services for children and adolescents. Requirements: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or eligibility for registration). Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent qualification). Significant experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in child & adolescent psychiatry services, with a strong track record of clinical excellence and leadership. Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in children and adolescents, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, adolescents, families, and colleagues. Commitment to continuous professional development and engagement in clinical governance activities. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the ongoing improvement of mental health services for children and adolescents.
