Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Specialist Machinery Manufacturing Your newpany A well-established manufacturer of bespoke industrial machinery, supplying high-performance equipment to leading manufacturers worldwide. With a newly launched Design Centre, the business is expanding its engineering capabilities and investing in innovation. Your new role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the development of custom-built machinery within specialist manufacturing. You’ll be responsible for signing new machines and improving existing systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the UK and internationally. The role includes project leadership, technical problem-solving, and occasional site visits for testing and support. You will have the opportunity to visit sites abroad should you wish to take that opportunity. What you'll need to succeed You’ll have a strong mechanical engineering background, ideally from the machine-building or sector. However, there is ample training provided for the role, so if you are an experienced Design Engineer with 8+ years of experience, you will be able to learn the systems. You should be proficient in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software and familiar with sheet metal, structural frameworks, and large assemblies. Leadership experience, project planning skills, and the ability to work to deadlines are essential. Additional desirable skills include: Understanding of machine safety standards and tolerancingAutoCAD experience for layout workEngineering calculations and Excel proficiencyFEA and CFD simulation experience What you'll get in return Life assuranceOpportunities for travel and professional development
