Principal Social Worker – Emergency Duty Team
2 days ago
PSW required in the ED team at NCT. 2 experienced social workers with AMHP qualifications are required for the ED team within the children's trust. The EDT staff offer out of hours services to respond to referrals where council intervention is needed to protect a young person. These cases come to the council at evenings, overnight or at weekends, as it would not be safe to delay the referral until the next working day. Duty social workers will respond quickly to emergency calls, and will offer sound advice to those in need, as well as following up the referral to ensure the correct care is available to the young person. Your candidate should have AMHP status, a great awareness of child protection, mental health needs, and emergency care, and should be flexible with their working hours. Out of hours work is necessary due to the nature of the role, so EDT work would not suit a candidate looking for a 9-5 job. Ideal candidates will come from an EDT background, and will have worked within the young people's service as an AMHP or EDT social worker for a number of years.
