REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONEngineering qualification / time served apprenticeshipHold a current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certificateKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERTISEHot runner system knowledge and experienceUnscrewing mould tool knowledge and experienceLaser welding. Would be desirable but not essentialProgression strip tool knowledge and experienceComputer literate and Familiar with Microsoft Office POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to plan your work effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of your section and meet deadlinesTo manufacture all work as specified by the Tool Order Request using current issue design drawingsTo be capable of working to BS 308 drawing standards and its associated BS standardsConfident using various methods of measurement with equipment such as: Micrometres, Verniers, lip gauges, Pin and Thread gauges, Shadow graph, etcResponsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement of mould and press toolingEvaluate repair jobs to determine the work involved to get tooling into spec and back to productionUnderstanding of mould and press tool processes and operationsUnderstanding of tool steels and their characteristicsResponsible for inspecting and testing your work to ensure all tooling lies within specification, meets quality standards and functional requirementsTo comply with all current work instructions operable within your area of activityTo comply fully with all current Health and Safety regulations in operation within the Company whilst carrying out your toolroom dutiesOperate all machines and processes in accordance with accepted and documented procedures such as: Manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, jig grinders and EDM sinkersAbility to perform benchwork/hand skill activities using a wide range of tools and equipment and able to maintain those tools in an operational conditionTo carry out those tasks required by your line manager that are within your capability to meet the needs of the CompanyResponsible for basic machine maintenance and good housekeepingReport to your line manager immediately on finding any machine or equipment malfunction
