Job description 🌟 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Home Tuition Service 🌟Job Title: High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Level 4 Area: Oldham, Manchester Start Date: ASAP / September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Working hours: Monday to Friday, hours per week We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to a wonderful school in Oldham, supporting children who are being educated at home. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by delivering high-quality, personalised learning outside the traditional classroom. About the Role As a HLTA, you will: Complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under supervision. Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, or whole classes. Monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development. Contribute to the coordination, development and delivery of our home tuition service. Requirements: Previous experience as a HLTA or in a similar role. A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months. Access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential, as the role involves travelling to pupils’ homes). Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. A commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing. Additional Information Mileage undertaken each week will be reimbursed in line with Oldham Council guidelines (agency to establish and agree rate). This is a full-time position starting ASAP / September 2025.
