This job is now CLOSED – for similar roles please check the Technical function. This new role, Supplier Technologist, has come about due to further investment into the technical function and is exciting to work with a broad cross section of suppliers. 1 day WFH. Three decades ago, in a green part of the country, an individual had an idea to create a business focusing on healthy nourishing food. Surrounded by the lush landscape and fertile soil, he tapped into the growers of fresh produce virtually on his doorstep. Fast-forward and the business continues to go from strength to strength. Especially so in the technical function. It is a function that has a Head of Technical who has received multiple internal promotions and so knows the business well and will be supportive in your onboarding. The team is growing, with this role another to strengthen the department and make it one of the best in the sector. The supplier base has grown significantly in the last few years, with raw materials sourced from the UK, Europe and SE Asia. This is where your focus will lie, maintaining and developing processes for technical approval, covering fresh produce, ingredients and packaging, including new supplier approval and raw materials. Your experience will come from working in a food manufacturing environment, preferably supplier facing where you have created raw material specifications and been involved in external auditing. You understand UK retailers’ codes of practice and quality standards with awareness around food safety risks and allergens. There will be some travel involved to audit suppliers, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential. To balance this out, you will be able to work one day from home.
