Financial Controller Location: Cheltenham Full-Time | Permanent Reporting to: Managing DirectorHays Senior Finance is proud to be exclusively partnering with an established SME business based in Cheltenham to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Financial Controller.This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with full responsibility for thepany’s financial systems, reporting,pliance, and team management. You’ll lead a small finance team and act as the key financial contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring robust financial controls and providing strategic insight to support business decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesOwnership of all financial systems and processes, including accounting softwareLeadership and development of a small finance teamMonthly close, management accounts, and board reportingBudgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementPayroll processing andpliance with HMRC legislationStatutory accounts preparation and audit liaisonVAT returns, pensions, and regulatory submissionsOversight of sales and purchase ledgers, debt management, and cost controlAdministration ofpany insurance, benefits, and financial schemesProject accounting and weekly WIP reportingWhat We’re Looking ForQualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), would consider QBE for a candidate with very relevant experienceProven experience in a hands-on finance leadership roleStrong technical accounting andpliance knowledgeExcellent Excel and accounting software skillsTeam management experienceStrongmunication and stakeholder engagement skillsWhy Join Us?This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the financial future of a growing business, working closely with the leadership team and making a real impact.
