Job description Teaching Assistant - ASD & Social Communication NeedsLocation: Bedford£90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience) | Full-timeAre you passionate about helping young people feel understood, supported, and able to thrive? A warm and inclusive specialist school in Bedford is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports learners aged 4-19 with Profound, Multiple and Complex Learning Needs, as well as those with Autism and Social Communication challenges. This role offers the chance to play a meaningful part in each child's learning journey within a highly nurturing, structured environment.Key Responsibilities:* Provide thoughtful 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD and social communication needs* Contribute to an inclusive, predictable, and child-centred learning environment* Support pupils with routines, communication development, and positive social interactions* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider staff to promote each learner's wellbeing and progressKey Requirements:* Experience supporting children or young people with ASD or Social Communication needs* A calm, patient, and proactive approach* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships* A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to the individual needs of pupilsIf you're dedicated to helping children feel safe, confident, and empowered in their learning, we would love to hear from you.
