Reporting into the South West Service Manager the Generator Engineer will provide maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems and associated equipment. Our support is carried out at clients premises or Pharos sites. Key tasks include:

Carrying diagnostic, testing and remedial works on generators, switchgear and associated equipment, and support PPM where required to include Load banking.Electrical fault finding and repairGenerator upgrades, including but not limited to Control panelsProviding call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota systemCarrying out client site visits and generating accurate and timely reportsProjecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned worksTeam technical development, training and mentoringSupporting operational tasks i.e: reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer enquiries etcOut of hours workingOn call service

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years experience in the generator industry with a minimum of 2 years experience in standby powerProficient in the installation and operation of DSE/ComapQualified electrical engineer i.e: NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / ElectricalQualified to 18th Edition Electrical Regulations2391/2 Inspect and TestSwitchgear experience/qualification would be highly desirableSkilled in technical report writing with acute attention to detailA good network within the Generator field would be advantageousFull UK driving licence
