Your newpany Solihull Council are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager (ATM) to join our busy Social Care Mental Health Team in Solihull. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality mental health services within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Your new role As an ATM, you will work alongside the Team Manager, three ATMs, and the AMHP Lead to ensure effective supervision, duty management, and case oversight. You will play a key role in supporting staff and maintaining service standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise a team of 5–6 staff members, providing guidance and support.Manage duty systems and oversee case work within the team.Cover duty when two permanent ATMs are unavailable.Undertake visits with service users as required (non-case holding role).Work flexibly across locations: Maple Leaf – 1 day per week for dutyMoat Lane – Mondays in the officeCollaborate with health colleagues and understand funding processes.Ensurepliance with the Mental Health Act and related legislation.What you'll need to succeed Significant experience in mental health social care.Strong understanding of: Section 117 responsibilitiesMental Health Act processesPartnership working with health professionalsFunding and resource allocationPrevious experience in a supervisory or management role within mental health services.Ability to travel and hold a valid driving licence.Preferred: Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.What you'll get in return One dedicated consultant with over 17 years of recruitment expertiseRecruitment partner for Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Coventry and Oxfordshire Councils with access to exclusive jobs.
