An international Law firm is looking for an Experienced Financial crime/AML Lawyer to join their expanding Risk & Compliance team. Our client offers flexible working either in terms of hybrid or condensed working, and they are looking for an experienced Financial crime Lawyer with experience in a large law firm. They are looking for someone to be based out of either their London or Regional offices in the UK.The Role:Playing a pivotal role in ensuring continued best in class compliance with Financial Crime and AML law and regulationEnsuring the firm complies with all relevant Financial Crime and AML laws and regulationsSupporting the Head of Financial Crime and AML in ensuring that the firm’s policies, procedures and operations remain in full compliance with legal requirementsWorking closely with internal stakeholders, providing advice, conducting risk assessments, and managing FC-related compliance mattersSupporting in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Financial Crime and AML policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practiceActing as a subject matter expert in AML, Sanctions, SAR reporting, ABC, CTF and fraud, providing expertise on high-risk casesConducting the investigation and supporting in the reporting of suspicious transactions, ensuring timely submission of suspicious activity reports (SARs) to the relevant authoritiesConducting horizon scanning and producing updates on changes and developments in Financial Crime and AML legislation and regulations, and ensuring that the firm’s policies and procedures remain up-to-date and compliantSupporting in provision of responses to internal and external audit requests on financial crime complianceSupporting the Head of Financial Crime and AML on financial crime-related projectsYour Skills & Experience:Background in providing Financial Crime/AML advice at all levels of a regulated entity, including compliance monitoring, sanctions and financial complianceExperience acting as a subject matter expert across the firm on suspicious activity reporting, proceeds of crime, anti-bribery, fraud and failure to prevent tax evasion queriesExperience in creating and providing training on Financial crime and AML risks, laws and regulationsExperience in drafting, reviewing and implementing Financial Crime and AML policies, procedures and controlsExperience in acting as a point of escalation for client and matter; take on queries and escalations, including financial crime/AML risk, ESG and reputational exposure considerations.
