Job Overview

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis (3 days per week) supporting a child with complex Autism in a primary school in Brent. This role focuses on providing tailored, 1:1 support to help the child access learning and develop social and emotional skills. Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with children with complex SEND, particularly Autism, in a school setting.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with the child, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrate a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs.
Be proactive and adaptable, with the ability to tailor support to meet the child's evolving needs.
Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEND or child development (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a child with complex Autism, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the school day.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and monitor personalised support plans.
Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
Support the child's social and emotional development through structured activities and positive interactions.
Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and the school team to ensure cohesive and effective support.
