Key Responsibilities for the DFM Engineer job in Bicester, Oxfordshire:
* Collaborating with R&D teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing.
* Creating and maintaining bills of materials (BoM) and accurate technical drawings for production.
* Managing the transition of new products into production, ensuring smooth handovers and efficient processes.
* Overseeing first-year production performance, monitoring field performance, and feeding improvements back into the design cycle.
* Designing test jigs and establishing robust test processes to optimize production efficiency and ensure product quality.
What You'll Do in the DFM Engineer job in Bicester, Oxfordshire:
* Partner with Production teams to drive efficiency and eliminate defects in manufacturing processes.
* Develop guidelines and checklists to maintain high design standards across electronics, mechanical, and automation systems.
* Manage obsolescence issues, identify suitable alternatives, and perform minor PCB redesigns as necessary.
* Liaise with Purchasing teams to secure reliable, high-quality components that align with production needs.
