Children's Social Care – Assistant Director Improvement

Initial 6 month interim contract

IR35 TBC - £650 per day – full time

A new, fantastic opportunity for an Improvement specialist within children's services in local authority for an initial 6 month interim contract within a Midlands authority.

Though leading on improvement work, the role will also encompass supporting the Director of Children’s Services.

My client will be holding Teams/telephone interviews early January 2025 and looking to review CVs ASAP with a view to starting immediately.

About your duties as Children's Social Care – Assistant Director Improvement:

The primary purpose of role is to produce results and make a positive impact on the improvement journey.
This will include preparation of some written documents for the Improvement Board and other time limited pieces of work that are required across the Directorate. 
Experience of working in Children’s Social Care at a Head of Service/Director level is essential, as is working in an improvement environment. 
You must be able to manage difficult and challenging/supportive conversations and situations.
Have experience navigating and monitoring Ofsted visits.
Able to implement change.
Project work skills are an advantage.  A key driver for this role is to ensure a relentless focus on the pace and impact of improvement to services for children at a critical point in the teams Children’s Services improvement journey.
Data and performance would be of a huge benefit, as well as a good working knowledge of Liquid Logic.
Your experience needed as Children's Social Care – Improvement Lead:

Experience within improvement based role for children’s services
Ability to work in an agile and flexible manner’
Understanding of social work, Ofsted inspection readiness and criteria
Active registration with Social Work England
Available references for most recent 2 year's roles.
