The position of Class 1 Day Driver involves:

Delivering and collecting palletised goods to customers using a curtain sided vehicle.
Loading and unloading of vehicle, ensuring load security.
Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
Using a hand held PDA to complete daily vehicle checks.
Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills required for Class 1 Day Driver:

Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Working to deadlines.
Confident, polite and a team player.
Good geographical knowledge.
Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

Basic salary for Class 1 Day Driver is £33,742pa.
Overtime paid at an hourly rate.
Rest day working paid.
£70 every 5 years for HGV Medical.
Attendance for CPC paid.
Hours of work are based on a 4on 4off rota, starting at 06:00hrs.
