Are you passionate about delivering high quality, engaging, respectful and dignified care and support to older people? If so, we are looking to recruit a passionate Senior Support Worker to join our existing management team in Carlisle.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will support the management of a small 27 bed residential care home in Carlisle. Providing 24 hour support for older adults that require additional care and support, but without the need for specialist nursing care. At The Laurels, we pride ourselves on the support we offer to our residents, and we have won multiple awards over the past 2 years including a High Commendation at the 2023 UK Care Home Awards and being shortlisted for the Care Home Chef awards in the same year. As a Senior Support Worker, we ask for you to care for our residents like they are your own family, attending to their physical, psychological, and social needs. This includes assisting residents with personal care activities, personal hygiene, dressing, and meals, as well as supporting their full engagement in activities.

We seek kind and caring individuals who want a job where they can truly make a difference in people’s lives. Previous experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential. However, experience leading a team and qualifications in care (Level 2 or above) are essential, along with a willingness to work flexibly according to the service needs, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Full training is provided, along with the opportunity to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care. The service is located on a main public transport route with regular buses in and around the area.
